About Betsy

Hello there,

I am a cartoonist, illustrator, and independent art teacher living in the San Francisco Bay Area. I’ve been publishing cartoons all over the world for over 15 years. My first submissions were picked up by King Features’ “The New Breed.” I appear regularly in The Funny Times, and recently began an exclusive feature in Body + Soul Magazine. I have been cartooning my whole life -- through childhood, school, working, many apartments, two houses, two cats, two kids, one fabulous husband, assorted hamsters and a newt. I am never far from pencil and paper.

In the past few years I have found another passion: teaching. I believe that drawing belongs to everyone in the world, and I hope to draw with as many people as I can - and show them how drawing, cartooning, visual storytelling, and silliness are big parts of what makes us human.
